The AI will realize over a 1/3 savings when compared to a low output metal halide (250W). In addition, consider the energy consumed by a small (400W) water chiller, and the heat produced by the chiller that must be removed using air conditioning. The compound energy savings can be substantial.
No Heat Increase
The AI shows less than a 1 degree water temperature increase over a 12 hour period. A low output metal halide (250W) in the same configuration shows an increase of over 15 degrees.
Over 8 Times Longer Life
The AI’s LEDs are rated for over 50,000 hours allowing years of maintenance free and environmentally friendly use. Metal Halides are plagued with costly annual replacements due to deteriorating output and unpredictable color drift. They are also dangerous to the environment if not disposed of properly.
Micro-Controlled

With the included external controller, the fixture can be configured to simulate the sun and lunar cycles.
Built in the USA
The AquaIllumination product is sourced of high quality components from various US and Asian sources. Critical components are tested and assembled at both state-side vendors and in-house to maintain strict installation and quality control. High power LEDs are installed onto thermal circuit boards in strict accordance with the LED manufacturer's reflow curve. Each fixture is built and tested in-house and given a 24 hour burn-in, after which, the light is sent through a testing fixture to confirm proper PAR output, heat output, and electricity consumption.
